DOT Quartet is composed of violinists Pablo Rodríguez, Chris Kosides, violist Yanna Pelser and cellist Iván Nogueira. They are prominent and versatile musicians who met in 2013 at the Codarts Conservatorium in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
Raised with a classical background, they started to investigate the possibilities of a string quartet in non-classical music such as jazz and world music. They compose and produce their own music, influenced by great jazz figures and ensembles such as the Turtle Island Quartet, Pat Metheny, Duke Ellington and Cole Porter, among others. The result is a new sound concept for the string quartet, along with the presence of improvisation and freshness in performances.
At the moment they are preparing the recording of their debut album, which is going to be released in 2016. As a presentation of their album they are touring Spain and the Canary Islands in February 2016. They will arrive to Café la Palma in feb. 21.
